Someone pulled the trigger.

Fat_man

Just an idle thought about a someone who survived nuclear winter, and what their thoughts might be:

Someone was bound to pull the trigger at some point. It’s only a matter
of time until one person presses the button, and that makes other
people press their little red buttons, and pretty quickly there is
nobody left to press little buttons. What happens after that?

Remorse. Sadness. Bizarre tranquility. Suddenly I recognize my place in
the earth because without others on the earth it’s easy to define
oneself. I think the first thing I thought of after the initial panic
had worn off was that we should have paid more attention to
disarmament. In retrospect that is the one most important thing we
could have done. But we were worried about everything else in society
too. Which is to say that we never really thought anybody would
actually have the balls to do it.
